MLHS offers interscholastic sports because they fit our mission. Just as our teachers are expected to infuse their classrooms with the Christian faith, so our coaches are expected to infuse their “classrooms”—the field, court, etc.—with the faith. In addition to physical conditioning, refining skills and technique, and training in tactics, coaches are expected to include devotions and prayer in their team’s preparation, as well as a Christian approach to all situations.
We recognize that when we compete, our teams are not playing for themselves but for God’s glory. We recognize that our words and actions provide opportunities for us to be witnesses of our Christian faith.
