Find answers to your most common questions below to help you navigate everything you need to know about Milwaukee Lutheran. If you have any other questions, please contact us for more information.

Is there an entrance exam?

Yes, all new students interested in applying are required to take the corresponding placement exam.  For the High School, it is the High School Placement Test (HSPT), and for the Middle School, it is the STAR Assessment.  You can register for the placement exam after submitting the admissions application, as part of your checklist items. Some private grade schools offer the HSPT to be taken at their school since many high schools in our area use it.  So, you can also check with your grade school to see if the HSPT is offered.

Does Milwaukee Lutheran offer transportation?

No, however, there are public bus stops on 92nd street and 100th street.  Additionally, some local school districts offer transportation reimbursement.

How do I apply for tuition assistance?

100% of students receive tuition assistance through various opportunities.  Visit our Tuition & Financial Aid page for application instructions for donor funded financial aid, scholarships, MPCP, WPCP, SNSP, and tax deductions.

Are there scholarships available?

Yes. We currently have scholarships awarded yearly. Eligibility is for tuition paying students based on need, merit, or both.

When is the best time of year to apply?

It is encouraged to academically apply in the fall so that we can remind you of admissions deadlines such as placement test dates and when Choice opens.  It is encouraged to apply for Choice in the first enrollment period in February because Milwaukee Lutheran starts a waitlist immediately after this first period closes.

What can we expect during a Shadow Day?

During a Shadow Day, your student will be paired with a Student Leader and attend all their morning classes. The day will end right before lunch.  This visit provides an opportunity for your student to see our expansive facilities while gaining insight into the culture, academic programs, and faith-based learning.

Do you accept transfers?

Transfers are new students entering the school for 10-12th grade.  We have a limited number of seats available for transfers each year. Please apply early, visit, and present a good case of why you are looking to transfer.

What is the student dress code?

Students adhere to a standardized dress policy of Milwaukee Lutheran apparel.  Approved apparel is available through the school each year starting in May.  Bundles are great cost-effective options to start building your Milwaukee Lutheran wardrobe.

Do I have to be a Lutheran to attend?

While our teachings are based on the LCMS doctrine, students of all faiths are welcome to attend.
